Exciting news from our friends at @Ilfordphoto. They plan on launching a digital marketplace to feature all of the beautiful photography made possible by the film photography products. I find this particularly exciting because I believe that showcasing emerging and established film photographers is one of the best ways to increase film sales. I wish them the best of luck.
House of ILFORD is a new and exciting addition to the services available from the well-established ILFORD LAB DIRECT photographic process and print service based at the HARMAN factory in Mobberley, England.
HARMAN technology Limited is the company behind the famous and iconic ILFORD brand of black and white photographic products.
The House of ILFORD is the place where professional photographers producing beautiful fine art black and white prints have been invited to showcase and sell their work. The aim is to enable a new audience to have access to stunning photographic art for their home.
Customers can browse the on-line gallery at their leisure and choose from a selection of quality black and white photo art by established photographers, recognised for their work with fine art monochrome images. Real Silver Gelatin prints can be ordered in a range of popular sizes as print only, or ready to hang, matted and mounted, in high quality black or silver aluminium frames with optically clear glass. Using the Océ LightJet printer, all prints are digitally exposed to traditional ILFORD black and white, resin coated, photographic paper that will last for many years. There are a variety of subjects to choose from including landscapes, wildlife, people, flowers, and many more.
Steven Brierley, Director of Sales and Marketing at HARMAN, said, “This is an exciting new partnership between HARMAN technology Limited and some of the best, creative and talented, black and white photographers. The aim is to promote exceptional photo wall art images as framed resin-coated prints to a wider audience looking for something special for their homes. The ILFORD LAB has long been established to produce fast turn round processing and printing on resin-coated papers. By printing with the LightJet on to resin coated paper the intention is to attract an entirely new audience discovering real silver gelatin black and white photography for the first time.”
Neil Hibbs, Manager at ILFORD LAB DIRECT, says "To maintain our reputation as the ‘best in black and white’ we only show exceptional images from photographers whose work we consider suitable for home decor. The photographers featured at House of ILFORD are by invitation only. The photographic prints are all made here at our site in Mobberley, Cheshire, England, by our experienced technicians whose work is of an equally exceptional standard."
