I am in the process of building my darkroom and was wondering if any other Beleiveinfilm people have their own? I wanted a place to talk design and construction. And thought to myself this would be a perfect forum to do just that!
I am working on a 9' 4" x 9'10" darkroom in the basement. I will be taking over half of the laundry room to do this project. I was thinking of doing a blog and uploading photos as I make my way to the end result. So I was hoping maybe we could do a thread on darkroom processes and darkroom building.
I took over our guest room in the basement with my darkroom as i covered the windows with wood plates to eliminate light leeks. Works perfectly though 'too big' but i have a bed in it if i become too lazy to print :)
I built a darkroom in our basement about a year ago. I would have LOVED to have a forum to go to for questions and suggestions on building it. I'd be happy to answer any questions to save someone the time of research. (Not that I know a lot, but I will share what I know!)
I am traveling now, but I teach at the International School of Kuala Lumpur. I have two darkroom classes, and I am well supported by the school. Well the darkroom budget took a hit the pass couple of months so I had to postpone the start until October. I will be posting a bloging my process when we finally get this baby going. I wanted to wait that little extra time to get the room I wanted so when I move in (As I will be spending all my free time in there) the room will be ready to go! 3 more months and I am on my way to building my dream darkroom.
