The Spanish Fort was built in 1701 and it served as the gateway to Bayou St. John from Lake Pontchartrain. The bayou was the "back door" to the city and of vital military importance. The ruins can be seen just a little bit to the right of the levy...off in the distance.

This was my second roll of manual camera film ever. I just got the pictures today. First roll was totally ruined, but I had just acquired a light meter before taking these pictures. Talk about exciting! I know it's kinda of a boring tree picture, but I think it looks pretty dang nice for three reasons.
