Chicago, IL - Digital Tintypes announces the launch of a new eCommerce website, www.digitaltintypes.com where visitors can create and order one-of-a-kind tintypes made from their uploaded digital files.
A tintype is an image rendered in silver and exposed directly onto a thin metal plate using an 1860’s process and hand poured chemistry. A digital tintype is a tintype created from any digital image. The steps to process a digital tintype are the same as would be with a traditional in camera exposure.
Digitaltintypes.com is a full service tintype studio created by Jen Jansen who has been working in restoration photography for close to 15 years.
Jansen offers both professionals and amateurs alike a new possibility in how to print and share their digital images. Providing clients with the highest quality tintypes to preserve their family memories and life’s memorable events. Digital tintypes are available in multiple sizes, plate styles and jewelry selections including pendants and cufflinks.
Visitors to the website use a three step upload process to make their digital tintype. First they select their plate size and style. Then they proceed to checkout. Once they have placed their order they are prompted to upload an image to be processed as their own digital tintype. These tintypes are then hand poured, shipped and delivered, matted and ready to frame.
